Norfolk Front Planning Sheets

Norfolk Mathematics Team have written a front planning sheet to support the planning process. It is a two page document that can be inserted in front of block plans for each unit. All the information is taken from the Primary Framework, all information can be found in more detail on the National Strategies website (mathematics framework).

Each front planning sheet details:

• Prior learning - remember that in the Autumn especially, this list will contain things not taught yet
• Speaking and listening objectives
• Learning objectives relevant to the unit (end of year expectations in blue)
• I can statements
• APP opportunities - as laid out in the learning overviews, these show where assessments can be made throughout block
• Learning overview - taken from the framework, showing suggested activities and ideas for teaching the objectives
• Vocabulary - all vocabulary for block, not necessarily for specific unit

We still recommend that the National Strategies website should be an integral part of the planning process. Our sheets are a starting point and a useful front page in medium term planning.
