N-SNAP An Environment to Support Effective Assessment for Learning with Children in YR-Y6

An environment to support effective assessment for learning in the primary years explores five key factors of a high-quality learning environment through research-linked ideas and information, and the opportunity to reflect and build on practice, considering the recovery curriculum

The training is fully funded by Norfolk County Council. The training is recorded and will be available from 14th September 2020.

N-SNAP Developing Collaborative Challenges for Assessment for Learning with Children in YR-Y6

This series of recorded training videos and supporting resources, will enable teachers working with children from YR to Y6 to design and take part in cross curricular collaborative challenges that appeal to their curiosities. Together, we will explore how to bring the core objectives taught together to develop these challenges and how, through effective assessment for learning we can enable children to work together effectively to achieve a breadth and depth of learning. We will use progression maps, taken from National Curriculum objectives, to enable us to focus on how the learning develops through the primary phase and beyond, and how to use all information gathered to continually revisit your curriculum design to enable future success for all.

The training is fully funded by Norfolk County Council.  The training is recorded and will be available from 14th September 2020.

N-SNAP Observations and Interactions which Ensure Reliable Assessment with Children in YR-Y6

Teacher observations and interactions with children as they learn are key strategies in effective formative assessment across the primary phase. In this way, assessment becomes an integrated part of the learning process, reflects what is interesting, challenging and worthwhile to the children, and provides a more holistic and reliable picture of attainment and progress.

This training will explore the rationale and benefits for using observation as a key strategy in formative assessment. It will explore how to develop and evaluate observational techniques, including active listening, effective questioning, ‘serve and return’ interactions, and other elements of good communication, to ensure an effective, individualised and well sequenced curriculum for all children from YR to Y6.

The training is fully funded by Norfolk County Council.  The training is recorded and will be available from 21st September 2020.
Bookings can be made here: https://s4s.norfolk.gov.uk/Event/119922

N-SNAP Using Blended Learning Techniques for Assessment for Learning with Children in YR-Y6

During this training, we will explore a variety of blended learning techniques and reflect on the use of each one in order that we can select the most appropriate forms for the differing situations we may encounter. We will consider how we can enable effective assessment for learning, continued autonomy for children and collaboration, whether the children are accessing the learning in-school and/or taking part in remote learning.

The training is fully funded by Norfolk County Council. The training is recorded and will be available from 21st September 2020.
