Subject network meetings

These meetings bring together Norfolk teachers to support each other and share practise. Meetings are led by experienced consultants, PD leaders or experienced teachers, and can focus on a range of areas including:

  • The latest Assessment and Exam Board guidance (A Level/GCSE/VQ)
  • Teacher Professional Development + Student Opportunities locally and nationally
  • Providing support and sharing ideas for the classroom
  • Plus, discussions/presentations on specific topics pertinent to that subject

Audience: Department / Subject leaders and teachers in Norfolk secondary schools and sixth form colleges

Venue: Online and face-to-fact (subject dependent)

Date and Time: Termly or half-termly (subject dependent)

Norfolk Subject Lead Cooperative

The Norfolk Subject Lead Cooperative matches experienced and knowledgeable subject practioners, with schools/teachers who want to improve their teaching standards and develop the quality of subject leadership. Through school-to-school support and peer-to-peer learning, good practice is shared and embedded.

The cooperative works on the principle that if you request support for a teacher or a department in your school, you will provide, in return, an excellent teacher from your school who is willing and able to provide support to another school. This approach will ensure the cooperative has access to a strong bank of Subject Leads who can provide support across a range of subjects and key stages.

Subject Leads will be outstanding teachers, middle or senior leaders, with at least two years’ experience and a first-class knowledge in their particular curriculum area. They will have experience of working effectively within their own school and/or across a group of schools, with either individual teachers, groups of teachers or middle leaders.
