Norfolk Children’s University is a progressive initiative that recognises each pupil’s skills, talents and interests, and champions the notion that learning also happens outside the classroom. Children are rewarded for taking part and their achievements acknowledged at inspirational graduation events. For teachers responsible for extra-curricular activities, Children’s University will:
- provide your school with a framework for accrediting your extra curricular activity for pupils at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3
- support you in raising the aspirations, self-esteem and resilience of students
- help you deliver the ‘Passport to Learning’ scheme, embedding the concept of the Children’s University into the very culture of your school
- better connect your school with projects delivered in partnership with organisations such as UEA, Norfolk Museums Service and Whittlingham Adventure.
Where possible free CU workshops and events are held at weekends and throughout the school holidays, and museums also offer free entry to CU members. Which all helps make learning an irresistible experience for children and their families.
