Detailed Primary Assessment submission timelines and LA checklists for schools.
Submission deadline dates to the LA or DfE as appropriate - 2025
Key Stage 2 (Yr 6)
Friday 20th June (LA-recommended date allowing time for any issues with submission to the Primary Assessment Gateway to be resolved before the STA's final deadline 27th June after which submissions will not be accepted).
No results should be sent to the LA.
Should include Pre-Key Stage and Engagement Model where appropriate.
Results to be uploaded onto STA's Primary Assessment Gateway website

Phonics (Yr 1 & selected Yr 2)
Wednesday 25th June (With allowance made if Phonics timetable variation week is required)
Phonics screening results (For all Yr1 pupils and those Yr2 pupils with no recorded scores or who did not meet the required standard [Wa/32+] in Summer 2024) to be sent to Education Achievement Service Data Team via Perspective File Request.
Please complete the Phonics Head Teacher Declaration form (HDF) on the Primary Assessment Gateway website by Monday 30th June 2025.

MTC (Yr 4)
Wednesday 25th June
The Multiplication tables check results can be downloaded as a CTF by schools via the MTC service from Monday 23rd of June. That CTF (in the same form as downloaded from the MTC Service) should be sent to Education Achievement Service Data Team via Perspective File Request.

Schools should always check with their MIS provider for latest news and information about assessments. We also advise that schools check that they have the most up-to-date version of their MIS before creating the CTF files to send to the data team via Perspective File Request.
