We're thrilled to bring you a series of exciting events that celebrate the joy of stories and shared reading, 7-11 July. We have a wonderful line-up of esteemed local and national experts who will be sharing their their passion for reading and its power to change lives.

Key highlights:

  • Inspiring keynote - Diana Gerald MBE, Chief Executive of BookTrust, will share the organisation's powerful journey to embed shared reading and storytelling into the lives of all children.
  • Author spotlight - acclaimed children's author Rashmi Sirdeshpande will engage children and professionals in Norwich and Great Yarmouth (via live stream for al Norfolk schools and in-person ticket holders). She'll explore how books can shape who we are, where story ideas come from, and share five powerful ways to supercharge creativity.
  • Expert voices - hear from leading organisations including EmpathyLab, BookTrust, the National Literacy Trust, as well as Norfolk teachers, the Norfolk Library Service, and Norfolk County Council - plus many more!
  • Best practice and research - discover the latest insights and proven strategies on how shared reading can enhance learning, build stronger relationships, and ignite imagination.

This week marks the beginning of a long-term initiative designed to support professionals and parents in navigating the rich landscape of local and national resources. Together, we aim to foster a lifelong love of reading and help every child and young person flourish and shine.
