Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
The Early Years Pupil Premium aims to improve outcomes for socio-economically disadvantaged children from 9 months upwards. Once a child is eligible, they remain so until their Early Education ceases.

Who can apply?
- Parents/carers who meet the eligibility criteria
- Providers must ensure parents are aware of the offer and review current communication procedures.
How do parents/carers apply?
- Parent/carers to complete Part 2, section 4 of the EY claim form parent/carer claim form. Information can be found Part 1 section 9
- Provider to transfer to child's record in the portal so NCC can do an eligibility check
- Consent is through completion of the form
- No direct application by parents; the provider manages the process.
What do Providers need to do?
- Advertise EYPP to parents/carers to raise awareness of the scheme
- Collect details - eligibility is checked using the parent/carers date of birth and National Insurance (NI) number / National Asylum Support Service (NASS) via the Parent/Carer Claim Form.
- Submit information to Norfolk County Council (NCC) through the Early Years Portal.
- Check who is eligible via the portal - access the funding actuals tab and review child weightings total; it clearly details which child is in receip.
