Support for Apprentices
A variety of resources are available to support apprentices at NCC:
Who can help
Your assessor
Your assessor is an expert in your apprenticeship course. They can help you with any problems with your work.
Your assessor can suggest workplace activities to support you, your learning and development.
Your NCC Apprenticeship Advisor
Your apprenticeship advisor is available to support you throughout your apprenticeship.
If you are having a problem with your apprenticeship, speak to your NCC Apprenticeship Advisor. They will be able to offer guidance and liaise with your manager and the training provider if needed.
If you are unsure who your advisor is, please email the team at [email protected].
Your manager
Your manager can help with workplace issues such as:
- health and safety
- managing your time
- offering guidance on difficult tasks
Long term absence
If you need to take long term leave from work, you should discuss this with your assessor and your line manager. This may be for sick leave or parental leave for example.
You can pause your apprenticeship for up to 12 months in these circumstances. You will continue your apprenticeship when you return to work.
You must tell your NCC apprenticeship advisor about any long term leave. They will need to pause payments to the training provider.
