Whether your school has engaged with Bikeability before, or looking to offer new opportunities, Bikeability courses can encourage and empower positive cycling skills, awareness and behaviours and support healthy lifestyles.
With secured funding from The Bikeability Trust via Active Travel England we are delighted to offer Norfolk children in education with funded cycling opportunities, delivered by commissioned Bikeability training providers (Outspoken Training, Pedal Power, SJ3 Outdoors & Little Riders).
The courses offer positive links to personal health, social and economic education (PHSE) as well as FLOURISH principles and can promote the following benefits:
- Physical exercise and time outdoors.
- Developing a hobby and interests.
- Routines and how to achieve different forms of regular exercise.
- Building in resilience so children can make healthy and informed choices.
- Creating independence using positive and safe cycling behaviours.
- Inclusive learning opportunity to support all children's needs. (Please discuss any bespoke needs with your provider or by emailing NCC's Bikeability co-ordinator at [email protected])

- Active Travel Promotion
- Encourage walking, wheeling, scooting, and cycling to reduce congestion and support student well-being.
