Information

Welcome to the first edition of our Assessment & Data Newsletter. Our monthly newsletters will outline key points for consideration and provide essential reminders for schools. All issues will be stored on the Assessment & Data section of the Norfolk Schools website.

Who we are

Sarah Penfold is the Local Authority Moderation Manager, working closely with schools to ensure consistency, accuracy, and confidence in statutory teacher assessment. Rose Keating is our Data Lead, specialising in the analysis and interpretation of pupil achievement data.

Together, we're committed to helping schools feel confident about the requirements of statutory assessment, to make sense of their performance data and use it to inform practice, planning, and progress.

Our email address is [email protected].

Reception Baseline Assessment

We are aware of technical issues with administering the RBA Assessment this year. Please complete the feedback survey to STA detailing any problems your school faced with the assessment.

Early Years Foundation Stage Profile

The Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) handbook was updated on 9th September 2025 to reflect changes in the way EYFSP data will be used.

"EYFSP data submitted from the summer term in 2026 onwards will be available in Analyse School Performance (ASP) a secure web-based platform accessible via Department for Education Sign-in from the end of the 2026 autumn term."

The Department for Education have also recently released their strategy The Best Start in Life aimed at improving child development and meeting the ambition that 75% of 5-year-olds in England have a good level of development (GLD) by 2028.

Attainment Data

Schools' attainment data is now accessible via the Real Time Data module, available through your Perspective login. If you would like guidance on how to access your schools' performance data via Perspective please view this video.

A free webinar for school leaders will take place on Tuesday 30th September at 4:00pm, focusing on how to use the framework to inform next steps in curriculum planning.
