Help your community of parents and carers make sense of SEND

For Parents / Carers

We know that building parental confidence in and understanding of SEND support at school is key to helping more children flourish in mainstream education.

We've been working hard to make our Norfolk SEND Local Offer Facebook page a trusted, engaging space for parents and carers across the county.

The page now reaches an average of 22,792 people every month, offering clear, digestible content that helps families understand the support available, whether through SEN Support, specialist provision in mainstream schools, or other pathways.

We're confident it's become a strong and helpful resource, and we'd love your help in promoting it.

Our aim is to shift attitudes and behaviours by improving understanding of what's possible within mainstream settings, even for children with higher needs.

We're telling stories that resonate through videos, explainers, and real-life examples from Norfolk schools. Huge thanks to Bluebell Primary, George White Junior, Caister Primary Federation, Sprowston Junior and Hillcrest Primary for supporting us to make videos for the page to explain what an SRB is and how it works. You can watch these here:

Thanks also to St Nicholas Priory Primary for allowing us to tell a picture story, also available on the page, about their mainstream SEN Support featuring teachers, children and parents. We're hoping to feature more stories of mainstream inclusion with many of you in the coming months, appreciation to those schools who've agreed to let us visit this term.

We've also shared guides on SEN Support Plans, Provision Expected at SEN Support, the Short Breaks service, School and Community Teams, and local support and activities for families.

Please consider sharing the page as you feel is appropriate in your school newsletters, bulletins, apps, websites or in general conversation. We believe parents will find it both informative and reassuring. And if you have a story to tell about fantastic SEND work in your setting, we'd love to feature it.
