FAO: Reception Teachers & TAs, School Nursery Teachers & TAs, EYFS Leads , 5 December 2025 09:36
For Staff

This course offers Early Years and childcare practitioners the opportunity to reflect on the inclusion of Gypsy Roma Traveller (GRT) children and to meet the EYFS statutory framework requirements in providing 'equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included and supported.'

The course aims to increase the awareness of good practice in Early Years for GRT children, and will help practitioners to:

  • Increase their knowledge of GRT cultures and gain a better understanding of diversity within GRT communities.
  • Learn about GRT culturally reflective resources and develop skills to create a culturally inclusive curriculum so GRT children and families feel valued and respected.
  • Consider the potential barriers GRT families may face in accessing services and how to overcome them.
