Help children find foster families

Action

Across Norfolk, there are children living in residential care who could truly thrive in the warmth and stability of a foster family. We're reaching out to organisations, schools, and community partners to join us in making a difference.

One way you can help is by becoming a Fostering Friendly Organisation. This initiative, led by The Fostering Network, encourages organisations to support staff who foster by offering flexible working and paid time off for training and helping a child settle in. Many locally maintained schools are already part of this scheme, and we'd love to see more employers follow their lead.

Schools that sign up to Education InfoSpace can access a dedicated section with guidance on fostering-related leave and resources to support staff who foster. It's a practical way to show your commitment to children and families in our community.

We also need your help to spread the word about fostering. You can download a poster (PDF, 1 MB) to display in public spaces or share in newsletters. Every conversation, every share, brings us closer to finding loving homes for children who need them most.

If you have ideas or suggestions for promoting fostering, we'd love to hear from you. Together, we can make Norfolk a place where every child has the chance to flourish.
