For Parents / Carers

Schools in Norfolk know all too well how challenging teacher recruitment can be. One powerful way to tackle this is by growing your own workforce—inspiring local people to consider teaching as their next career move.

The upcoming Teach in the East: Explore Your Route into Teaching event is the perfect opportunity to do just that on Tuesday 10 March 5-7pm (online).

Hosted by the region's teacher training community, this online session will showcase up to nine different training providers from across the East. Each provider will share their distinctive routes into teaching—helping future trainees find the best path for them, whether they're graduates, career changers or current teaching assistants ready to progress.

By sharing this flyer (PDF, 2 MB) in your school newsletter or parent communications, you'll help local people explore a rewarding new career in teaching—while strengthening the future workforce of your own school and community.

Participants will:

  • Hear first-hand from local training providers.
  • Learn about different course structures and qualifications.
  • Get practical advice on applications, funding, and next steps.

A short overview of the regional routes and what's on offer will be led by the Julian Teaching School Hub, followed by the opportunity to hear directly from providers such as Best Practice Network, Coventry University (NITE), Inspiration Teaching School Hub (NIOT), Grad2Teach, NESTT, NTTC, Ormiston Teacher Training (NIOT), UEA, and more.

Encouraging your local community to attend could help build a sustainable pipeline of teachers for the future—people who already know and care about your area, your schools, and your pupils.

Share the flyer today and help shape the next generation of teachers in the East. Together, we can inspire, recruit, and grow local teaching talent.
