Session 2. Question everything you thought you knew about mental health and neurodiversity
Date/Time : 4 Feb - 15:30-17:00
Presenter : Sami Timimi
Audience : Governors, SLT, SENDCO, Teachers, Parent/Carers
Psychiatric diagnoses are often based on subjective judgments rather than solid evidence, yet they're increasingly treated as fixed identities—especially within the growing neurodiversity paradigm and labels such as ADHD and autism. This webinar explores how this trend affects individuals, communities, and young people in particular, and why relying on biomedical "pseudo‑diagnoses" can hinder real progress. It will make the case for moving beyond labels and instead understanding each person's circumstances holistically to determine the support they truly need.
