Sharing inclusive practice across Norfolk through social media videos
Thank you to the schools and settings who have worked with the Norfolk SEND Local Offer team to create a series of short videos showcasing inclusive practice.
These videos highlight how children and young people are being supported to flourish in mainstream provision across the county. They have been shared on the Norfolk SEND Local Offer Facebook page and have reached nearly 29,000 views this term.
The stories bring together a range of perspectives, including:
- Parents and carers describing the support their child receives
- Children explaining approaches such as Zones of Regulation and enhanced SEND provision
- Teachers and leaders sharing their inclusive ethos and whole-school approach
The aim is to build awareness and confidence among parents and carers in how mainstream settings across Norfolk are supporting children and young people with SEND.
We are grateful to all the those who have contributed, including:
- Emma Beck, and pupils and staff at Wells Primary School
- Tom Egleton and students on the Discovery Pathways and Hospitality Enterprise courses at City College Norwich
- Eleanor Gilroy and students at Broadland High School
- Kate Redden and colleagues at Fairstead Primary School
These examples help to show what effective inclusion looks like in practice and how it makes a difference to children and families.
