As part of our recent breakfast briefings, we were asked to share some wording that could be included within a newsletter in support of Kinship families.

The upcoming Kinship Care week is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness with your families about support that can be accessed. We've included some suggested wording below but you can also find the Kinship Care Week 2025 - Kinship which has further suggestions for how you can look to celebrate and support your kinship carers during Kinship Care Week.

Kinship Care Week

Kinship Care Week is a special opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness of kinship families - the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and family friends who step up to raise children when their parents can't. Norfolk Virtual School are working to raise awareness of kinship families and support that they can access to support their child's education. Free Masterclass

The charity, Kinship are also hosting a free online masterclass for kinship carers on Tuesday 7 October, focused on connection and hope in kinship families, and supporting kinship carers with practical tools to manage stress, emotions and family challenges.
