NLC Update: Working parties
On 2 October Leaders across Norfolk came together for the first Norfolk Learning Collaborative meeting of the academic year.
Building on the success of the collaboration around last year's priorities, including the Norfolk KS2 Challenge, the NLC have identified four key priorities for 2025/26:
- Early language development
- Leadership for school improvement
- Adaptive and quality-first teaching
- Attendance, with a particular focus on severe absence and the 90-95% band
Last year the Learning Ambition benefited from a significant amount of professional generosity, with colleagues offering their time and expertise to work alongside others. As before, the NLC's aim is to develop a system led offer around each theme. We know that schools thrive through active collaboration. We also know that there is a wealth of expertise already present in Norfolk schools. That is why one of the NLC's key priorities is to promote collaboration that enables schools to benefit from the collective expertise and experience of others.
The NLC is setting up sector led working parties to lead this work and are looking for colleagues from the system to either come forward and join one of the working parties or share with ways they could contribute to the offer.
Whether you or your organisation have the capacity and expertise to work with other schools around a particular theme, could share how your school is working to improve or are looking to collaborate with others, the NLC would like to hear from you [email protected] . New members of the NLC are also always warmly welcomed; please email if you would like to get involved.
Further contributions from the system are vital, so do come forward with any offers you could make and look out for upcoming opportunities to actively engage with the system-led offer offered through the NLC.
