Reminder: Big Norfolk Holiday Fun - Winter 2025
The school holidays are fast approaching. Below are some further updates which will help you promote the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme to eligible children and their families.
Personal Assistant (PA) scheme
The NCC Short Breaks Team and Active Norfolk have worked hard to develop a PA payment scheme to enable more children to take part.
Any child who is on benefits-related free school meals and has a personal assistant, can have their PA accompany them.
Families must apply and have the offer confirmed before they book. Information on this scheme is here.
Help us promote the programme
If you haven't done so already, please download our promoter pack: Download the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun promoter pack here.
Spread the word to the families and children you work with, letting them know they can visit our Every Move activity finder to explore fun, free local activities: Search for Activities | Every Move
Materials include digital flyers to go home in bookbags, social media assets and copy to go into your school newsletters and websites.
You can also explore and share the district programme catalogues on Active Norfolk's website - please note that parents and carers booking activities should always confirm dates and times with the provider in advance, as things are subject to change.
You can help encourage families to book by doing the following:
- Send the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun flyers home with children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. You can find these in the 'Schools and Stakeholders' pack.
- Make your pastoral team aware so they can work with families you know who may struggle to make the booking themselves.
- Promote the scheme in your weekly school newsletter using the copy provided.
- Promote the scheme on your Facebook page using the social media images provided (or share Norfolk County Council's Facebook posts).
- Remind families that Universal Free School Meals is not the same as benefits-related Free School Meals. Further information can be found here.
If you have any questions, please email the team on [email protected] or visit our FAQ page.
Thank you in advance for all your continued support.
Benefits-related Free School Meals
Please remind families that Universal Free School Meals is not the same as benefits-related Free School Meals. Further information can be found here.
Encouraging families to register will help raise extra funds for your school (called Pupil Premium). This government funding can help with extra tuition, teaching and after school activities.
If you have further questions about the programme, please email [email protected] or visit our FAQs here.
Thanks in advance for all your continued support. If you have any further questions, please email [email protected].
