Norfolk SENDCo Now training offer 2026-27
The course will support SENDCos or aspiring SENDCos in mainstream schools and academies to understand and navigate Norfolk SEND systems and processes, navigate Norfolk services and use Norfolk tools. The course would also support colleagues in an Assistant SENDCo role.
It is facilitated by the Learning and SEND team and delivered in partnership with Educational Psychology and Specialist Support (EPSS) and other NCC teams and Norfolk SEND professionals. Delivery is through a mix of face-to-face and online sessions.
Throughout the course there are opportunities to network with other leaders of SEND, share good practice, explore learning and apply this to your own context. As part of the course, delegates are offered (optional) mentoring support sessions with a Learning and SEND adviser.
The course offer is over 6 days across the year, to allow time to reflect on your learning between sessions and apply this in practice in your setting.
Time: 9:00-14:30
Dates:
- Day 1: 22.09.26 (face to face; venue to be confirmed) - the national and Norfolk context around SEND and the role of the SENDCo
- Day 2: 24.11.26 (online) - the graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review), with a focus on inclusion for all, identification of need and assessment
- Day 3: 26.01.27 (online) - the graduated approach with a focus on the 'plan and do'
- Day 4: 16.03.27 (online) - multi-agency working and the graduated approach through the Norfolk SEND Local Offer and Norfolk support services
- Day 5: 25.05.27 (online) - Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Day 6: 29.06.27 (face to face; venue to be confirmed) - SENDCo as a strategic leader
