Relevant Area Consultation Outcome and Determination - the geographical area within which consultations on individual school admissions take place from academic year 2028/2029
Thank you to all those who took the time to review and respond to the recent consultation on the definition of the Relevant Area for Norfolk County Council. We are grateful for the feedback received and all responses have been considered in line with the requirements of the School Admissions Code and the School Admissions (Admission Arrangements and Co-ordination of Admission Arrangements) (England) Regulations 1999.
Following conclusion of the consultation, Norfolk County Council formally determined the Relevant Area for Norfolk.
The determined Relevant Area for Norfolk arrangements can be located by following this link.
Any admissions authority operating in Norfolk proposing to change their admission arrangements must consult with all other interested parties within this area. This determination will apply to future consultation cycles and to any new, revised or varied admission arrangements.
To support admission authorities in applying these arrangements, tools are available to help establish school radii and relevant geographical context relating to district. These can be accessed via the Get Information About Schools website.
We recommend that admissions authorities retain a link to the Norfolk Relevant Area webpage so that they can easily access this information during future admissions rounds or when considering variations.
