CoastCraft on Microsoft Education

FAO: Primary and secondary schools , 17 October 2025 11:41
Information

In Norfolk we have approximately 90 miles of coastline - with diverse landscape including sandy beaches, soaring cliffs, salt-marsh and coastal villages and a new educational game that has been developed in partnership by Minecraft Education, Cornwall Council and the Environment Agency as part of the Environment Agency's £200m Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme (FCIP)

The game has been developed to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum, with the game being tested in both primary and secondary schools. The release of CoastCraft on Microsoft Education, alongside an accompanying teachers' pack, will provide an exciting educational resource for students and teachers. The Norfolk Strategic Flooding Alliance, which brings together all agencies and partners involved in planning for and responding to flooding in Norfolk, hopes that this might offer schools in Norfolk a fun and educational way to engage with the important subject of flood and coastal resilience.
