Action

Following the communication sent out in Together on 16 March (Norfolk Transition Framework - Common Transfer Document - Norfolk Schools and Learning Providers - Norfolk County Council), this is a short reminder about the Common Transfer Document (CTD), which has been developed building on the Norwich Opportunity Area work to support smooth transitions for children between Year 6 and Year 7.

This year, it has been agreed that it would be helpful for feeder primary schools to complete and return the CTD to secondary schools by the end of May 2026.

Please remember that, as with any information sharing, it is important that you follow the Data Protection policies and procedures for your school, and share the CTD using a secure method of communication.

Please also be aware of the notification to the LA that you have completed the CTD which is located at the top of the form.  If you have completed the CTD but have not yet completed the MS Form to inform us that you have done so, we would appreciate you doing this.

There is another workshop scheduled for 9 July (1-2pm on Teams, which will provide an opportunity for feedback on the 2025-2026 CTD to be shared.  A timeline for 2026-2027 transitions will be discussed to work towards the earlier completion of the CTD to further support effective strategic planning for schools.

Please find the transition CTD template (Excel doc, 59 KB) ready for you to download and begin to use.
