Better Conversations

Supporting Young People to Reduce Nicotine Use is an interactive training session focused on building the confidence and skills needed to respond to vaping and wider nicotine use among young people. The training is commissioned by CYP Public Health Team, and the session will be delivered by specialists from Ice Creates, and organisation that leads behaviour change across the UK.

Nicotine use remains a growing and complex issue, and many professionals tell us they feel uncertain about how to approach conversations or what support they can offer. This session has been developed to address that gap, providing practical tools you can use in your day-to-day role.

During the training, you will:

  • Build your understanding of nicotine use and its impact on young people
  • Learn effective, evidence-informed conversation techniques
  • Gain confidence in supporting young people to reduce or quit
  • Explore ways to engage parents and carers constructively

This training is interactive, practical and grounded in real-life scenarios, helping you translate learning into action.

Following the training, you will also have access to a series of resources that have been co-designed with CYP & professionals across Norfolk to aid those conversations and help educate the young people you work with.
