Session 9. Behind the Mask: Thinking about why children mask and how home and school can work together

This session explores neurodiversity with a focus on why some children mask their differences, what masking can look like at school and at home, and the impact it can have on wellbeing and learning. It supports school staff and parents to recognise subtle signs of masking, understand why children may feel the need to hide their needs, and consider practical, supportive approaches that help create safe, inclusive environments where children feel accepted, understood, and able to be themselves.

Session 14. A Low Demand Approach - Looking at demand anxiety and strategies to help

This session explores neurodiversity with a focus on demand anxiety, how it can affect children's behaviour, and why everyday expectations may feel overwhelming for some learners. It helps school staff and parents understand the underlying drivers of demand-related distress and introduces key principles and supportive approaches that reduce pressure, increase emotional safety, and enable children to engage more confidently at home and in school.

Session 18. Anger or Anxieties? Thinking about emotional distress and how it can present.

This session explores neurodiversity with a focus on understanding meltdowns and emotional dysregulation, including what triggers them and how they differ from intentional behaviour. It supports school staff and parents to recognise early signs of distress, understand the underlying needs driving these responses, and develop compassionate, practical strategies to help children feel safe, supported, and better able to regulate their emotions at home and in school.
