The aim of Martyn's Law is to keep people safe, enhance national security and reduce the risk to the public from terrorism by the protection of public venues.  It places a requirement on those responsible for certain locations to consider the threat from terrorism and implement appropriate and proportionate mitigation measures. 

Two free training opportunities for DSLs regarding exploitation to help boost confidence to tackle this issue, developed following feedback from the safeguarding self-evaluation.

The Serious Violence Duty is reshaping how we understand and prevent violence in our communities. Join us for a virtual, interactive session designed for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) in education to share their views.

Please see details of a pilot being undertaken by Norfolk's Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) Team in relation to support for children who are under police investigation.

This session is designed to raise awareness and equip teams/colleagues to support these children and young people to achieve their best.

The White Ribbon Day campaign empowers education settings to take a stand against gender-based violence and foster a culture of respect, equity, and safety for women and girls. Support and resources are available to help education settings embed its themes into whole-education setting approaches that strengthen safeguarding, curriculum, and community values.

This 90-minute webinar will be led by Lucy Canning, Safeguarding Adviser and Russ Cole, Norfolk's Preventing Radicalisation Co-ordinator.

The Education Safeguarding Team would like to invite DSLs to join the following autumn term webinars. The webinars are opportunities for DSLs to further their learning but do not replace DSL refresher training.
