Update from the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership Education Representatives on the work they have been undertaking to ensure the voice of education is represented in multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.

We have updated our SENDCO guide and created a new resource schools can share with parents and carers to support conversations with parents and carers about SEN Support.

With only two weeks left until the Summer break, we are asking schools to review their contact details to ensure they are up-to-date.

On Wednesday 9 July, key systems used by Norfolk County Council will be temporarily unavailable while they are upgraded to the latest versions. These updates are essential to ensure we continue to benefit from improved performance, security, and functionality.

Key information about a forthcoming redesign of NCC's alternative provision offer to children who cannot attend school due to medical reasons. This will result in changes of the remit and scope of the provision and the existing arrangements for schools who use it.

The theme this year is 'Stepping into your Power' and we will be exploring how we can all 'step into our power' to ensure young people in care, previously in care, children with a Social Worker and children in Kinship care can achieve and have successful futures.

NEACO's Future You programme is offering a free tutoring strand for young people who are in care, have experience of care or are children with a social worker. They are now recruiting 10 young people, who are currently in Year 9, to begin the online tuition sessions, in the new academic year.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available to groups who support families and children in Norfolk.

Norfolk County Council requests that all schools and educational settings submit a prejudice-based incident report for the academic year 2024-25, including any nil returns.
